He was preceded in death by his father and his grandmother, Carm Boles. He was a security officer for Hollywood Casino in Tunica and a member of the Maxville Missionary Baptist Church at Cave City.

He was born July 10, 1956, at Noblesville, Indiana, to Eldon and Cora Boles. Carl 'Cotton' Boles age 52 of Tunica, Mississippi (formerly of Cave City) died Thursday, May 21, 2009, at Tunica, Mississippi.
